Welcome to the St. Pius X / Habitat for Humanity web page.  Here you will find everything you need to participate in this deeply rewarding volunteer experience.  Please consider how you might be able to put compassion into action with this parish-wide project.  Together we can all help a family build a dream of owning their own house.   Thank you to all who were involved in the 2009 Multi-Faith build.  We hope to carry the success and experience from last year into our new construction project this year.

Upcoming Build Dates                         Click here for a list of volunteer tasks needed Thursday, February 18 Saturday, March 6 Wednesday, March 10 Thursday, March 18   We need 5 to 10 volunteers each day.  Work days are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. but we can to work around your schedule. To sign up, contact Volunteer Coordinator Dennis Rau.  Dennis can be reached at (515) 278-4605 or at frogsrau@avalon.net.  Construction experience is not required. 2010 Construction Project - Catholic Circle of Faith A coalition of parishes called the Catholic Circle of Faith is being formed to work on a house this year. The parishes of St. Francis of Assisi, Holy Trinity and St. Pius currently make up this group.  The first build date is set for Wednesday, April 14 and work will be completed on Saturday, June 26.  The address is 1427 23rd Street, Des Moines. Click here for a map. If you are interested in being involved with our parish's Habitat for Humanity project, please contact committee members Dennis Rau at frogsrau@avalon.net or Jim Cade at (515) 270-1044.   Fundraising Each church participating in a Habitat building project is required to provide a cash donation in addition to volunteer support. The attached waiver form can be printed multiple times or photocopied. There will also be copies of the form at the construction site.
